Angels & Airwaves

It was a few months back that my best buddy Dave was over at my place checking out the website for Angels & Airwaves. He had told me about them long before that... but I hadn't really paid much attention. However... that night he was playing some music videos from their most recent album and the music caught my attention. I love finding new music and these guys were right up my alley.
A&A came through SoCal this week and we had the chance to catch them in Ventura. Dave, Dayna, Carly, and I met up for some dinner before the show at Cafe Fiore just down the street from the theater where the show was at. The atmosphere was great and so was the food. We probably left the table too soon because we had to sit through a little bit too much of the warm up bands... who weren't anything special.

When A&A came out... I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Tom DeLonge. He's definitely changed his music around since his days with Blink-182... but I wasn't quite sure about Tom himself. Needless to say... Tom and I probably still wouldn't see eye to eye on much... but I can still appreciate his music! :o) These guys put on a pretty good show and the music was awesome... standing 10 feet from the speakers definitely let me have a pretty good listen to it!

Here's a peak of the video I grabbed with my Canon 850 point and shoot.

It was fun to open up Final Cut Pro again. I hadn't messed around with it in a little while. I stole some tricks from my new buddy Paul Rogers... who's got a bag full of them! Thanks for the new ideas Paul!

So, I have Dave to thank for my obsession with A&A....I haven't stopped listening to them since you played them in your truck in SB. Seriously...I need help.

I am crying at how AMAZING the video that you put together is.....I mean, how DO you do that??? Please teach me. :) Looks like the concert was great....I'm keeping my eye out for when I can catch them in TX.

Good Friends, Good Food and Good Music. Thanks for a great time in Ventura. It was great to be together again and just do what we do best. Chill....

The video is really good B. You know I am going to beg you to waste time teaching me until you finally break down.

Nonetheless, thanks for the post and the great memory brother.

Annemarie, glad to be of service. I too love finding new bands!

You and me, both, Dave. I'm in on the begging. I think that Brett should host a webcast on how to do all the cool things that he knows how to do, for all of us that are less inclined to pick things up as easily as he does!! :) What do you think, Dave? I'm in if you are!! :) We'd want to record it so we could go back and reference it later of course!

If Brett is making a webcast about the stuff he is best at it would be a lesson on how to best have a conversation with yourself and how to have guacamole and chips as an entire meal. Also it would touch on going to bed when other people are waking up.

I have to thank Kyle for keeping it real! Your comment seriously made me laugh out loud. As amazingly talented as I think my brother is, you managed to reveal Brett's true hidden talents and keep his head from exploding.

Can you feel the love people?!? :o)

Kyle and Autie - I love you guys! You make me laugh... both at how funny you are... and how strange I am!

Dave and AP - You guys are great too! Thanks for balancing out these other two goof balls. You guys actually build my self-esteem... so others (like my roommate and sister) can come along and chop it down. :o)

What a wonderful balance I have in my life!

There is nothing wrong with guac and chips as dinner...it's a staple in TX!

And I have to agree with AP, A&A was a great find! Love their music a lot!
