Leave Yourself Stranded
Running in my mind still seems like punishment. Through high school and college baseball... you ran if you did something wrong. That concept got imprinted on my brain to the point that I haven't been able to shake it yet. So I have to try and trick myself into running and keeping my heart healthy.Tonight I think I figured out a little trick to help myself start running longer distances. Drive somewhere and start running away from my truck... that way when I start to feel tired I still have to turn around and run the exact same distance back to my truck! Most people have probably already figured that one out... but I'm just stumbling across the idea at this point... so it seems new to me!
Well, at least it worked tonight... I got my longest work out in yet. I'll probably have to come up with something new in another couple weeks.

you figured out the trick!!! out and back runs are a great way to start! Nice work Brett! :D
Good job Brett! And you're getting faster too! Another trick would be to have a cute little babe run about 300 yards in front of you, and then just keep trying to stay with her :)
Rebecca and I could come run "with" you if you want ... we both qualify as "cute little babes."
I would just call a cab to get back.
JP-
I like to think of myself as a "smokin' hot lady," rather than a "cute little babe." :-D he he he
Brett-
Great Running!
I'm with DJ!
Switchfoot is great and all but how is Reset not your power song? I get amped up every time I hear it. Try to pace off the drummer...
DJ and Autie - You obviously need to drive into the middle of the desert and then run away from your car!
JP - You're right... that would definitely be motivation... and a great visual distraction!!! :o)
Kyle - I used Reset today when I ran a mile! It worked pretty well! Me gusta mucho!
Maybe that is why I don't run... because I do live in the middle of the desert!!
